Dr. Lagmay pursued a lot of studies relating to experimental analysis of behavior, behavior modification, relaxation and related studies, and hypnosis. In utf8mb4_general_ci of his work, the University of the Philippines awarded him a Professorial Chair in Psychology (1973-1975). He is also member of prestigious learned societies here and abroad including the International Council of Psychologists, American Psychological Association and the International Association of Applied Psychology.
In 1984, he received the Distinguished Service Award for significant contributions to psychology and the social sciences by the Association for Anthropological Diplomacy, Politics and Society and in cooperation with the Association of Third World Anthropologists.
