Dr. Jaime C. Montoya is recognized for his significant contributions to various aspects of tuberculosis— its epidemiology and patho-physiology, its diagnosis through new molecular diagnostic methods, immunology, drug- susceptibility and drug-resistant TB, which impact on TB management and public health policies. Dr. Montoya investigated the efficacy of Mycobacterium vaccae as an immunotherapeutic agent to manage susceptible and multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis.
