Dr. Apolinario D. Nazarea is recognized for his significant contributions in biophysics and molecular biology. Among his contributions are his theories on nonlinear reactive systems, the “Nazarea Model” in membrane biophysics (model of effect of radiation on the conduction current facilitated by channel proteins), his findings and concepts on the recurring patterns of oligonucleotides of tRNA and rRNA and his predictive studies using X-ray crystallographic data to locate epitopes for the design of better and more effective vaccines.
