Dr. Zamora is recognized for his contributions to plant anatomy-morphology, pteridophyte biology, and the conservation of environment and natural resources policy research. His work on the xylem elements of vascular plants in the basis for the formulationof the two phase wall deposition concept now accepted universally. His studies on the taxonomy of Philippine ferns led to the discovery for more species of the group.
