For his research on the recovery of metals from non-traditional sources such as chromium from chromite, copper from chrysocolla, gold from refractory pyrites, nickel ad cobalt from laterites, Cd, Zn, Te, As, Bi and Sb from copper smelting anode mud and smelter dust.
For his contribution to the Philippine semiconductor industry including the establishment of Association of Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing Engineers of the Philippines and its Annual Technical Symposium, now on its 30th year, and the many engineers he has mentored in enhancing their technical competencies through local and international conference presentations.
