Dr. Benito M. Pacheco has significant research in engineering science and technology and disaster risk management. He has contributed to academia, the engineering profession and construction industry, through basic research laboratory research, applied research, action research, education research and research on policy and legislation. He has maintained multi-disciplinal, multi-sectoral, national and international collaborations in research on issues ranging from structural vibration control to multi hazard disaster risk management. He played important role in the formulation of the new legislative proposal on Philippine Building Act, which reforms legal framework as well as setting the stage for the periodic updating of adminsitrative rules and regulations and technical reference standards for buildings in the philippines.
